Veterinary care from the comfort of your own home
Telemedicine is a great way to have your pet evaluated by one of our veterinarians without having to come to our brick and mortar location. This is a great option if your pet gets fearful or anxious in the car or during his exam in the veterinary office. Or sometimes it’s easier to not leave the house and to avoid traffic. Your pet must have a valid Veterinarian-Client-Patient-Relationship (VCPR) with LMVH. This is achieved by having a physical exam by one of our veterinarians once a year or within the last 12 months. Another great use for our telemedicine service is to get quick access to your veterinarian for a consultation. Consultations don’t always need a valid VCPR if it is for a puppy or kitten pre-purchase exam. If a problem is best accessed in person or a follow-up is needed, we will communicate these needs with you during your telemedicine appointment.
Here is a list of problems or concerns you can use telemedicine at LMVH:
- Mild gastrointestinal upset (not eating well, vomiting, diarrhea)
- Skin irritation
- Minor wounds
- Mild eye issues
- Behavioral issues
- Pre-purchase information/consultation for puppies/kittens
Telemedicine is not for:
- Marked lethargy
- Difficulty breathing
- Ear infections
- Trauma, such as hit by a car
- Any other emergency
You can schedule a telemedicine appointment using our LMVH App with a few clicks. Select “Schedule virtual exam.” Your appointment can be conducted via telephone, text, or Zoom.
